Objectives that overlooked the design objectives revolved around a changing urban context, in which the design firm’s ideology may be allowed to intersect an effective marketing strategy. Our site is located within the Downtown Houston grid, and more specifically at 1100 Smith St. and Dallas St. In this corridor we find the 11 level parking garages connected by three pedestrian paths [Tunnel Annex Stairs, Elevators and Main Entry/Exit]. Within this pedestrian zone we find the design firms separate office, which has been asked to become a Materials Library/Conference Room.
The objectives leading towards the proposal are to provide the large storefront windows to serve as an interactive display unit, which communicates with a changing context, both for public and private. Our urban analysis reveals vital details, which effectively reinforce the design firm’s ideology, “Thinking Forward”. Space and syntax are terms that are associated to a wide depth of terms within design; in our case we will examine urban patterns to maximize advertising through our design.
